Dr. John W. Winkler, MD
Dr. John Winkler received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Indiana University College of Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is board certified in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Winkler has been in practice for over 30 years and brings his clinical and surgical expertise to treat a wide range of ophthalmic conditions. He is an expert in complex and refractive cataract surgeries, utilizing the latest technology to perfect your vision. He additionally manages and treats conditions such as glaucoma, dry eye, age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and ophthalmologic emergencies. He provides comprehensive eye wellness care and surgical options.
In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, gardening and going to the theater. He has traveled to Les Cayes Haiti regularly to provided cataract surgery and ophthalmic care to the underserved community as well as instructional teaching to the surgeons there.
Dr. Kathryn P. Winkler, MD
Dr. Kathryn (Katie) Winkler received her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where she graduated with honors. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, MI, where she was nominated by her peers as the most compassionate resident. She then went on to complete a two-year Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute. She is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and board certified in Ophthalmology. Dr. Winkler specializes in treating diseases affecting the eyelids, lacrimal (or tear drain) system, orbit (tissue and bone around the eye), thyroid eye disease, lesions and cancers of the eyelids and orbit, reconstruction of the eyelids and orbit, and aesthetic surgery around the eyes and forehead.
Her practice provides comprehensive ophthalmic and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery options. She has published a number of scientific articles, advancing the oculoplastic academic community as well as presented at many national meetings. In her spare time she enjoys running, traveling, going to the theater, and spending time with her husband and puggle. Dr. Kathryn Winkler, like her father Dr. John Winkler, has a passion for international medicine and has traveled to Les Cayes, Haiti and Migori, Kenya to provide ophthalmic and oculoplastic care and surgery to the communities.
Dr. Stephen J. Winkler, MD
Dr. Stephen Winkler received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed a general surgery internship at Northwestern/Mcgaw followed by an ophthalmology residency at the Krieger Eye Institute in Baltimore. He then completed a 2 year oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the Krieger Eye Institute under James Karesh, MD and Marc Hisrchbein, MD. He is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and board-certified in Ophthalmology. Dr. Stephen Winkler, like his sister, specializes in treating diseases affecting the eyelids, lacrimal (or tear drain) system, orbit (tissue and bone around the eye), thyroid eye disease, lesions and cancers of the eyelids and orbit, reconstruction of the eyelids and orbit, and aesthetic surgery around the eyes and forehead. He has a particular interest in larger reconstructions and restoring functional components of eyelids.
Dr. Stephen Winkler joins the practice after having spent 5 years on staff at the Krieger Eye Institute in Baltimore and Wellspan York Hospital in Pennsylvania teaching residents in ophthalmology as well as oculoplastics fellows. Stephen enjoys composing music, cycling, snowboarding and spending time with his wife and son.
